Tamarack Jacket

This is a class to make the Tamarack Quilt jacket. We will be cutting up a finished quilt to piece the jacket together. We are NOT piecing and quilting each pattern piece, this is a class to use an already made quilt to turn into a Tamarack jacket.

You need a quilt that is at least 64x72 (there is some wiggle room here, especially depending on the size you make) and you need about a yard of fabric for your binding. Please wash and dry your quilt at least twice before class. We want a quilt that is preshrunk and already all crinkly and delicious.

The best part of these jackets is how cozy and comfy they are! If you don't have a quilt you want to cut up, or if you want to piece the pieces exactly for your jacket, you can pre-purchase the pattern and have your premade, prequilted pieces ready to go for class. Or you can buy a big box store quilt and cut it up before you cut up one of your precious quilts. I know cutting up a quilt is stressful, but I promise it will be FANTASTIC once it's in jacket form!

What to Bring:

• Sewing Machine (piecing foot, overlock foot if you have one)
• OR Serger (if you have one. I piece mine on my serger and it's so fast!)
• Sewing Kit (Rotary cutter or scissors, snips, measuring tape if you have one, pins, clips, needles, etc)
• Pattern
• Quilters Grid Pattern paper (2 yds)
• Pre quilted fabric OR quilted quilt.
• Fabric for binding, pattern instructions amount needed for ea size
• Thread to coordinate or to contrast, your choice!
