New Quilters - Best Practices
Join us for 6 consecutive weeks and become a confident quilter! This class is for new quilters who have no idea what thy're doing, and current quilters who really want to learn the proper way to make a quilt to increase thier confidence. This class goes over EVERYTHING from picking fabric, to cutting, to piecing, to quilting and binding! It's how you make a quilt start to finish. Marian will be showing you tips and tricks the whole way through, highlighting best practices and why you do certain things, certain ways. The quilt you will be making is a neutral colored white, gray and yellow, size is 49"x52", and fabric is included in the purchase of your class.
Supplies:
- Notebook and pen/pencil for notes
- Sewing machine, including power cord, foot control, bobbin case, bobbins, and 1/4" foot.
- New 80/12 sewing machine needles-universals or microtex style
- Basic sewing kit-pins, tape measure, seam ripper, scissors, snips
- Rotary cutter
- Cutting mat (12"x18" or so)
- Rulers- 6"x24" and 6"x12
- Neutral Colored thread (white, pale gray or tan is best
- Three gallon sized Ziploc bags
*Walking foot is recommended for the quilting portion, we have for purchase if needed.*

This is not a learn how to sew class. You must have a general knowledge of your machine and how it works to attend class. You will receive an email containing your supply list once you purchase your class. If there is an item on the supply list you're unsure of or do not have, we will have everything for sale. You can also purchase a Beginner Quilting Kit with your class which includes a cutting mat, rotary cutter, and both rulers you need. Purchasing the Kit at time of class purchase, saves you 20% off the cost of your tools!
