Sew Together Bag

The Sew Together Bag is one of Alissa's favorites!! Although intimidating to look at, it is SIMPLE when it's broken down by step by step, and is a super fun bag to make AND own! If you're scared of zippers, you won't be after this! We will be installing zippers, binding a bag AND a long zipper, and customizing the bag a bit as well! I'll give you some options to make the bag work better for you, and teach you how to get this bag together in a day! For this class, you must come with all of your fabric pieces and parts cut and labeled! You can bring one l;ong piece of zipper tape with pulls that we can get ready in class, but the fabric needs to be cut out. If you purchase the class WITH the pattern, you can come and pick up your pattern at any point before class or if you'd like me to mail it to you, that's an option as well!

Bag Materials are as follows:

• 1 Fat Quarter (exterior fabric)
• 1/2 yd (by WOF) (Lining fabric
• 1/3 yd x WOF (pocket linings)
• 1 Fat Quarter (binding fabric)
• 1 yd fusible lightweight interfacing
• 18"x22" piece of batting or fusible fleece if quilting exterior piece
• 1x18" zipper
• 3x9" zippers 
• (or 2 yds continuous zipper tape plus 4 pulls)
• Thread - you will have topstitching that will show so be mindful when choosing your thread color!
• Optional: fabric scraps + batting scraps for pincushion option
• Zipper foot!! This is a non-negotiable for this class, you MUST bring your zipper foot!
• Bernina Babes can also bring foot #10 for binding if you'd like

You can also make the bag scrappy, just note fabric piece requirements and gather pieces of the proper size for the proper parts! (Scrappy is Alissa's favorite version!! For the exterior you can also use a piece of improv fabric you can piece together, or use an orphan block you didn't put in a quilt for a fun option! And the zippers don't HAVE to match...they can contrast or compliment as well. Make this bag your own and make it fun!

The class will run through lunchtime. We will take a 30-minute break for lunch, so bring a snack or grab some food at one of the restaurants in the plaza!

Skill Details:	Must know how to properly use your sewing machine, must know how to change feet on your machine.
