Hemingway Pouch
It's a Christmas in July bag class! Need a few quick and easy gifts for friends, teachers, family members, or yourself??? Come and learn how to make a Hemingway pouch! They're SO fun and customizable. From the fabric to the bag size, to the zipper, you guys can make this bag anything you want it to be!
In class we will be lightly quilting our fabric and foam, cutting our pieces, and installing a zipper....it's just that easy!
Fabric Requirements:
- Exterior Fat Quarter
- Interior Fat Quarter
- Accent Fabric 1/4 yd
- 18"x21" piece of Soft and Stable or comparable foam
- Zipper, min 24" long
- Thread to coordinate with fabric choices
What to Bring to Class
- Sewing Machine (including power cord and pedal!)
- Thread
- machine needles (sz 90 recommended)
- walking foot (optional but will help to quilt the foam)
- zipper foot (mandatory!)
- coordinating thread (cotton or poly is fine)
- 12"x18" minimum cutting mat (We have three large mats if you need to use ours)
- rotary cutter
- ruler (6"x18" or longer recommended)
- thread snips
- scissors
This is an EASY pattern! You're welcome to come as a beginner, and bring any sewing machine you want to sew on in our classroom, Bernina is recommended of course, but not mandatory.
